Crispy and delicious, dosa is one South Indian dish that has a constant place in our hearts. From Mysore masala to onion rava dosa, there are so many variations and versions of this treat. You can make it with aloo masala or simply have a ghee roast dosa with podi masala or even enjoy a delicious plain butter dosa. But recently, one bizarre dosa shared on Twitter has not gone down well with internet users. A Twitter user shared a video of the making of ice cream dosa. Yes, you heard that right! A street vendor has created a bizarre dosa made with ice cream, and the video has left foodies aghast. Take a look:

The clip was shared on Twitter by user @byomkeshbakshy. Since the time it was posted, it has raked in over 517k tweet views, 201k video views and thousands of comments and likes. “South Indian dish dosa ko Gujarat me survive karne k liye icecream se dosti karna pad ja raha hai [South Indian dosa has to befriend ice cream to survive in Gujarat],” wrote the user in the caption.
In the video of the ice cream dosa, first, the vendor added some dosa batter to a heated tawa. He sprinkled some ghee on top to cook it properly. Then, as the dosa was cooking, he added three different ice cream flavours to it including vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. He spread the ice cream to melt it over the dosa slightly before tossing it into another banana leaf-lined plate. Then, he drizzled some jam and candied fruits and folded up the dosa. Lastly, he drizzled the dosa with some sprinkles and chocolate sauce and served it with the three ice cream cups!
Internet users could not help but react to the bizarre ice cream dosa. Several said that creating this strange combination of sweet dosa was a crime. “Ye gunaaaaaah hai,” wrote one user while another said, “Regret having eyes today!” A few others, however, said that they would not mind tasting the dosa and the dish was unnecessarily being shown in a bad light. “I’d eat that,” said one user while another wrote, “Actually, you get amazing dosas, idli & vada all over Gujarat. This is some useless experimentation in the name of food innovation that some Gujarati street vendors do.”
