Back in January, an article titled “Why Rich People Don’t Cover Their Windows” ran in the Atlantic and quickly went viral. It posited the theory that bare windows have become a status symbol among the well-to-do. But if you ask an interior designer, they’ll probably tell you the opposite — that their clients value the privacy and aesthetics that window treatments offer, and they’re not afraid to spend staggering amounts of money to get them.
