“Love Actors, Not Faketors” – Amul Shared A Creative Topical On Deepfake Controversy

Amul, the popular dairy brand, is well-known for its wide-ranging topicals. The company frequently releases these creative illustrations on social media, in newspapers and through other mediums. Through these topicals, Amul shares its signature takes on subjects of ongoing public interest. The brand often celebrates good news and moments of national pride. However, among Amul’s most recent topicals is one that addresses a serious issue: deepfakes. The caption reads, “#Amul Topical: Bollywood stars falling prey to deepfake videos!” In the illustration, a notorious, unidentified figure on a laptop is depicted in the centre. This is meant to represent the person generating deepfakes.
