In summer, fresh fruit juice is one of the most favourite ways to beat the heat. From mango to watermelon, as Indians, we are spoiled for choice in the summer. Additionally, making juice at home is pretty simple these days, thanks to electrical juicers. But have you seen someone making watermelon juice without any electrical appliances? If not, check out this viral video of an Indian elderly woman’s unique style of making watermelon juice. The video has left the internet divided, some labelled it as “a genius idea,” while others called it “a waste of time.” Let’s learn more about her style.
In the video, we can see an old woman sitting in a field with a giant watermelon. First, she cuts one end of the fruit using a knife. Next, she uses a whisk and plunges it throughout the fruit to attain a squishy consistency. Then, she empties the fruit into an earthen pot. Following that, the woman takes a spoon to separate all the fruit from the shell. A push plastic tap is then attached to the shell of the watermelon. Soon after, a strainer is positioned on the open end of the watermelon, and the juice is poured into the shell. Then, the woman mixes sugar and ice cubes into the juice. In the end, to drink the juice, the woman does not use a glass but takes out the piece that she cut out of the fruit at the beginning and uses it as a bowl.
