There is a need to understand the importance of neuroscience in comprehending the complexities of the human brain and its impact on mental health, education and societal dynamics, said University of Haripur’s Head of the Psychology Department, Dr Muhammad Rizwan.
He was speaking at an awareness workshop on neuroscience was organised by Department of Psychology and Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialisation (ORIC) at the university.
The workshop on neuroscience aimed at enhancing understanding and awareness in this rapidly evolving field. The workshop, under the able guidance of Dr Rizwan, brought together experts, scholars and enthusiasts to delve into the intricacies of neuroscience and its implications on various aspects of human behaviour and cognition.
He highlighted the role of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic research and practical applications in the field of psychology.
Keynote speaker at the event was Dr Touqeer Ahmed, who is the Head of the Department of Healthcare Biotechnology at NUST. He delivered a thought-provoking address, further enriching the discussions with his expertise in the field. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in stimulating discussions, exchange ideas, and network with peers. They were able to foster a collaborative environment conducive to learning and knowledge sharing.
