An airport worker was fired when a furious passenger returning home to Cyprus from the UK discovered an obscene message written on his 7-month-old son’s suitcase.
Mario Lucas expressed his frustration after making a complaint to Ryanair about a message that read “c—- stop checking in late” on the front of his child’s suitcase, The Sun reported.
After visiting family in the UK, Lucas’ family checked in for their flight to Paphos, located in the western part of the country, just 90 minutes before boarding.
But upon returning to Cyprus, Lucas noticed the horrifying message on his little boy’s blue-colored Revelation branded suitcase while waiting at baggage claim.
“When we arrived in Cyprus, we were at baggage reclaim and I saw my son’s suitcase on the belt,” Lucas said. “My wife Serena noticed the writing straight away.”

Lucas immediately took the matter up with Ryanair to file a report, telling the Irish-based airline what happened to his son was “outrageous” and that he demanded another suitcase.
“I’m annoyed as it was a brand new suitcase we bought in September,” the disappointed father continued.
After speaking with Ryanair, the airline’s contractor made a statement condemning the act by saying it was “unacceptable” and they had a “zero-tolerance policy for offensive behavior.”
The little boy’s blue-colored Revelation branded suitcase is shown with a message on the front reading, “c—- stop checking in late.”
“This unacceptable incident was reported by our own team on the day, immediately investigated and following conclusive evidence, the individual involved has been dismissed,” the contractor, ABM Blue Handling said.
“Mr Lucas was contacted by the airport and an apology extended. We have a zero-tolerance policy for offensive behavior, and we want to extend our sincere apologies to Mr Lucas,” ABM Blue Handling continued.
Lucas was dumbfounded by the marking as he Ryanair employees didn’t confront him over his check-in time.
The father claimed one employee at the desk even said, “Everything was fine.”
“It’s not the recommended two hours but I’ve definitely checked in later. We had no issues at check-in,” Lucas said.
