The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Jamiat Ahle Hadees’ (JAH) provincial chapter on Saturday agreed to politically cooperate with each other for the next general elections.
Senate chairman and BAP leader Sadiq Sanjrani visited Quetta to forge new alliances with other parties for the upcoming polls following in the footsteps of the PML-N.
During his visit to Balochistan’s provincial capital, he met with the leadership of the Jamiat Ahle Hadees’ leadership in the province.
In the huddle, Sanjrani was accompanied by other BAP leaders including Senator Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, former MPA Mir Khalid Langove and others.
The JAH delegation included its Balochistan chief Maulana Abu Turab and 30 district presidents of the religo-political party.
During the huddle, Sanjrani highlighted the significance of education for the development of Balochistan.
The Senate chairman maintained that all the stakeholders and political parties were united for the uplift of the province.
Speaking about Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza, Sanjrani said the Pakistani government and its people stood by the Palestinian people.
He added that efforts were being made to find a lasting solution to the Palestine problem.
As the next general elections are drawing closer, political parties are making efforts to forge new alliances.
On Tuesday, the PML-N formed an alliance with the MQM-P and announced reaching out to other players in Sindh.
Now it seems to have set its eyes on Balochistan. The PML-N sent its senior leader Ayaz Sadiq to the province and he reportedly managed reel in a former BAP leader to his party’s fold.
According to a BNP-M leader, who was part of the previous federal cabinet, the PML-N was currently approaching leaders from the BAP and more were expected to join them.
“If this plan does not materialise, both [parties] will form an alliance for the elections,” he added.
The party leader said ironically, it was the PML-N that called the BAP as “the king’s party” until it was in an alliance with the PTI.
The BNP-M leader said his party was hearing of another alliance between the JUI-F, ANP and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party in the province.
He continued that given the ties between the JUI-F and PML-N, this would translate into a grand alliance in Balochistan.
PPP chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is also expected to visit Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa from November 16 to 21, according to the party’s information secretary, Faisal Kareem Kundi.
He said Bilawal would meet with several leaders in K-P and many of them were expected to join the party.
