U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to meet with Jordanian leaders and his Qatari counterpart in Amman, the capital of Jordan, on Saturday, after a packed day in Tel Aviv, where he pressed for “humanitarian pauses” in Gaza. Washington is becoming increasingly concerned about the civilian toll of efforts to destroy Hamas, the militant group responsible for the Oct. 7 attacks, which triggered the current war. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to reject Blinken’s call for pauses and said Israel would be “continuing full force” until Hamas released all hostages. Israel on Friday hit an ambulance it said was being used by Hamas, outside the largest hospital in Gaza City, killing 15 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. In videos reviewed by The Washington Post, women and children were among the dead and wounded, and no weapons or individuals wearing military clothing could be seen.
