Rashida Tlaib’s response to Hamas attack: Letters

The Issue: Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s continued display of a Palestinian flag after the Hamas attack on Israel.

Large numbers of individuals in our country are condoning the indescribable, barbaric slaughter of Israeli citizens by Hamas (“Their evil views in plain sight,” Douglas Murray, Oct. 13).

The killing and mutilation of women and children, including infants, is no deterrent to the celebrants.

That those murdered, and apparently some of those taken as hostages, include American citizens is also of no concern to these supporters of terrorists.

It should also be noted that Rep. Rashida Tlaib proudly displays a Palestinian flag in front of her Capitol building office.

It is unfathomable that even students at many universities, including Harvard, Columbia, NYU, et al., have enthusiastically supported the killers. Hopefully, potential donors to such institutions will remember this.

Anyone who lives in America can’t be critical of Israelis. Americans live in an occupied nation, too. The native Americans never got their land back.

These Squad members, Reps. Tlaib, Cori Bush and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as well as Sen. Bernie Sanders, are total hypocrites.

Tlaib is a member of The Squad. When asked for comment by a reporter, she refused to condemn the murder and beheading of babies. Instead, she rushed into an elevator in silence.

She proudly displays a Palestinian flag outside her office. Imagine if anyone were to display a Nazi flag in the halls of Congress. That would surely be roundly condemned, as it should be. So why not a flag that represents terrorism?

With its genocidal ideology and its twisted version of Islam, Hamas seeks to eliminate the Jews. Wake up, America. The enemy is not at the gate. It is already inside.

Tlaib thinks Israeli policy should be denounced,

While we’re pushing cognitive acuity tests for the president, perhaps we should have a morality test for our elected officials.

Anyone who is so amoral and remains unresponsive to the massacre in Israel should have no place representing our country.

Despite the fact that the Hamas terrorists have committed atrocities of massive proportions, butchering innocent men, women (including the elderly) and children, and have even gone so far as decapitating babies in front of their parents, Sen. Bernie Sanders — an American Jew — is condemning Israel’s retaliation.

Sanders is no better than Tlaib — who proudly displays her Palestinian flag outside her Capitol office and is known for her antisemitic remarks.

It is both sad and frightening to see an antisemitic movement within the Democratic Party. And it is another instance of Democrats sticking together and not calling each other out for being on the wrong side of history.

Not only does it smack of bigotry and hatred, it stinks to high heaven.

Tlaib is guilty of violating her oath of office and promoting the heinous act of genocide against the people of Israel. She had the unmitigated gall to post a Palestinian flag outside her office.

When a Fox News reporter tracked her down and asked several times if she thought it was OK to cut off the heads of babies and murder the innocent, Tlaib ignored the questions.

This miserable excuse for a human being should be removed from office, along with the other members of The Squad who are taking the side of Hamas, a murderous, soulless affront to humanity and against all that America stands for.

Gregory J. Topliff

Members of The Squad are calling for defunding the Jewish state, while refusing to condemn the terrorist organization Hamas.

Tlaib is proudly displaying a Palestinian flag outside her Capitol office. The Squad should be expelled from Congress.
