Police rule Alamgir Tareen’s death as ‘suicide’


LAHORE:

The forensic analysis report of the death of Alamgir Khan Tareen, owner of Multan Sultans and brother of veteran politician Jahangir Tareen, has ruled it as suicide.

Preliminary investigations revealed gun marks on Alamgir’s hand, indicating that he took his own life. It further stated that Evidence of a shooting at close range to his temple has also been uncovered,

Alamgir Tareen allegedly ended his life by shooting himself at his apartment in Lahore on July 6. However, the reason behind the suicide remains unknown during the initial stages of the investigation.

According to police sources, Alamgir reportedly used a pistol to shoot himself in the head at his residence in the Gulberg area.

The 62-year-old was living alone at the time, and the crime scene was thoroughly examined before being sealed. The pistol used in the suicide was recovered by authorities.

After conducting a post-mortem, the hospital authorities released Alamgir’s body to his family. The examination revealed that the fatal bullet entered through the right side of his head and exited through the left side.

There were no indications of physical abuse or torture. The cause of death was determined to be excessive blood loss, with no signs of drug overdose.

The first person to discover the body was the servant named Alamdar, who immediately alerted the police.

Authorities have been searching for a possible suicide note, hoping it may shed light on the reasons behind the incident.
