Caretaker Interior Minister Brigadier Haris Nawaz announced that a joint operation by Sindh Rangers and police is set to be carried out in the kutcha areas.
“The main aim of the operation is to eliminate criminals in the kutcha areas of the province and apprehend the suspects responsible for the tragic death of journalist John Muhammad Mehr within the next 15 days,” he said.
Reportedly, following the unfortunate demise of journalist John Muhammad Mehr in Sukkur, members of the journalist community in Karachi held a protest outside the Karachi Press Club on Saturday. Subsequently, the representatives of various journalist organisations met the minister at his office. After the meeting, the interior minister visited the Karachi Press Club to express his solidarity with the journalist community.
