The Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani couple Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh became showstoppers for Indian designer Manish Malhotra’s bridal campaign on Friday. The two, dressed to the nines in their heavily embroidered silver attires, made speeches, and had fun on the ramp while closing the show for the ace atelier. However, while Ranveer’s performance was a hit amongst most fans, Alia failed to impress.

Sharing a picture of Deepika Padukone from Manish’s previous shows, a user asked Alia to learn from the Piku star. “This is how you own a ramp – Deepika Padukone for Manish Malhotra. Take notes, Alia Bhatt,” read the tweet.

Another user disapproved of the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor’s walk and said she lacked “professional runway manners.” A tweet read, “Actors are for acting, not for ramp walks.” Some viewers even called her walk “awkward” and “unappealing.” Others felt that Alia appeared uncomfortable with Ranveer’s exuberant behaviour, labelling it as “pretentious” and lacking the grace of supermodels.

Ranveer, in his walk was, well… himself. He casually walked the ramp in his dapper style, throwing flying kisses, cracking jokes, and stopping to kiss his wife Deepika in the first row. Manish’s Bridal Couture 2023-24 presentation was held on July 20, at the Jio World Convention Centre. The fashion show was attended by several celebrities like Karan Johar, Sonali Bendre, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Arjun and Anshula Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Babil Khan, among others, in addition to influencers, and fashion media.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, a Karan Johar film, reunites Alia with her Gully Boy co-star Ranveer on the big screen. Other actors include veteran Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles. As per Hindustan Times, the film also marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan’s career in Bollywood, following the footsteps of his sister, Sara Ali Khan.
