Miaasa was founded by Miara Shaikh and Saadia Siddik in 2016 as a passion project and their mutual love for shoes. The duo felt that there was a dearth in the local market of quality footwear that would compliment both, eastern and western apparels in terms of design, yet affordable and quality conscious in terms of its construction. Started as purely an online brand, with manufacturing 100% outsourced- five years down the line, the company is 100 per cent vertically integrated company, with their own manufacturing facility in Korangi, Karachi, and two retail outlets in Karachi and in Lahore.
Miaasa shoes boast quality craftsmanship and a unique flair in terms of design. The brand started off with only flats and has now expanded into stilettos, kitten heels, wedges, mules, block heels, pumps and children’s shoes. The brand holds regular exhibitions in international markets such as Dubai, designer collaborations with luxury brands such as Misha Lakhani, Elan/Zaha and the list continues.
While there have been many new entrants in Pakistan shoe industry, Miaasa shoes’ success is attributed to its core ethos – the brand source the finest leathers locally and construct the shoes using top notch manufacturing standards that they have learnt through visiting various factories in Italy. The embellishments created are all handmade by skilled artisans in the factory, and the leather weaving, whip stitching and interlacing techniques that are done by female artisans. Every Miaasa shoe is created to compliment our everyday shalwar kameez, bridal joras and ethnic ensembles that women across Pakistan wear on a daily basis. The company’s goal is to serve Pakistani women with footwear that is comfortable to wear yet fashionable to the eye so that there is a local option available in competition to the monopoly of international franchises in footwear.
