A dive into history by a journalist has brought back fond memories of when veteran Indian cinema actor Zeenat Aman donned a Pakistani design. The legendary star was once quite taken by Pakistan, and had even expressed her admiration for the beauty of Lahore, On her visit once, she is reported to have said that she wishes she had visited the city earlier.
The walk down memory lane was shared by fashion journalist Shahjehan Saleem, who shared a picture of Zeenat Aman walking down the ramp wearing an ensemble by fashion designer, Maheen Kardar.
“When Bollywood royalty, Zeenat Aman, wore Pakistani fashion house, Karma!” penned Saleem. “A picture from the 2015-16 fashion season, we see everyone’s favourite ‘Zeenie Baby’ wearing an elegant ensemble in shades of red for the signature Karma Red concept by Maheen Kardar. Whenever India and Pakistan collaborate, it’s magic!”
“Thank you, Shahjehan,” responded Kardar. “Zeenat Aman was my childhood love and first fashion inspiration, along with Parveen Babi. This was a dream come true.”
Aman, who has acted in several iconic films, is already garnering a lot of attention on Instagram with her first few posts. Fans of the legend have flooded her Instagram page with comments and messages, expressing their excitement at seeing her on the platform. With her timeless beauty and iconic status in Bollywood, there is no doubt that Aman will conquer this medium as well.
