Govt releases Rs129bn for development projects under PSDP

The Government has released 129 billion rupees for development projects under Public Sector Development Programme, including 27 billion rupees for Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the erstwhile tribal areas.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives, this amount has been released for the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year.

Thirty billion rupees have been released to speed up the projects like Diamer-Bhasha Dam, Mohmand Dam, Kachi Canal, Nai Gaj Dam. Besides, twenty two billion rupees have been earmarked to expedite the projects like Khuzdar-Kuchlak Road, Dualization and Improvement of Old Bannu Road, eight billion rupees to complete the Higher Education Commission projects. Similarly, an amount of 4 billion rupees has been released for the Ministry of Housing and Works, eight billion rupees for the Ministry of Railways, and five billion rupees for the Power Division.
