Croissant + Samosa = Cramosa: The Confusing Food Combo Taking Internet By Storm

Samosa is one of the most popular snacks in India and serves as a staple on most special occasions. Now, let’s talk about croissants – the popular French breakfast delicacy that is a light, buttery, and flaky pastry and a favourite among foodies. Now, what if someone came up with a dish that combined elements of both the croissant and the samosa? Well, anything can happen in an era of bizarre food combos, and someone did put the two dishes together. A post featuring a picture of a “cramosa” has been going viral on social media. A Twitter user shared a picture showcasing a flaky pastry that resembles a croissant – being sold for Rs 170 from Costa Coffee, an outlet in India. The unique name and concept of the dish have left desi food lovers rather confused. People are unable to identify whether it’s a croissant, a samosa, a samosa shaped like a croissant, or vice versa. Take a look at the post:

The post has received 22.5K views and a variety of comments from users who are mostly confused about it. Needless to say, not many are happy with the food combo.

A user commented, “That’s a Samossaint”

However, this is not the first time somebody tried to come up with this unique food combo. Not too long ago, a similar Twitter post fuelled debate about a crossover between samosa and croissant. A Delhi eatery at the airport has experimented with a pastry of Austrian origin and moulded it into a desi snack – called “cramosa”. A user posted a picture of the snack on social media and added the text:  “Cramosa (samosa croissant with mint dip).” After this post, people were left either curious or bewildered.
