A cold spell has gripped Pakistan with temperatures dropping all over the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Sindh, Express News reported on Sunday.
The minimum temperature was recorded at -14 degrees Celsius in the Kalam area of Swat in K-P, as extreme cold weather conditions persisted in the area.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature was recorded at -6 degrees Celsius in Malam Jabba and Parachinar, -4 degrees in Upper Dir, -3 degrees in Chitral, -2 degrees in Kakul, and 0 degrees in Bannu and Kohat.
A minimum temperature of 1 degree Celsius was recorded in the provincial capital of Peshawar.
The weather is likely to remain cold and dry in most districts of the province, while there is a possibility of fog in the morning hours.

In Balochistan, Quetta recorded a minimum temperature of -9 degrees Celsius.
Sindh also faced extreme cold conditions with the provincial capital recording a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius today (Sunday), after the coldest night of this winter season.
According to the Meteorology Department, compared to the previous day, the temperature decreased by 4 degrees, and the humidity in the air was recorded at 50% on Sunday morning.
The weather will remain cold and dry in most districts of the province today while fog is likely to occur in Sukkur, Larkana, Mohenjodaro and surrounding areas on Monday morning.
According to the Early Warning Centre of the Meteorological Department forecast, the cold wave is expected to continue across the province of Sind until January 17.
