Barcelona soccer star Gerard Piqué allegedly cheated on his pop star girlfriend Shakira — but she may get the last laugh by having his soccer team wear a jersey with her name on it.
A Spanish newspaper is reporting that the “Hips Don’t Lie” crooner could be about to sign a licensing deal with Barcelona FC which would have her name emblazoned on the jersey of the soccer club which includes her estranged ex.
The website for the Spanish daily “El Español” cited Barcelona-based sports reporter Moises Llorens as claiming that Shakira and Barca are nearing an agreement.
“Barcelona is planning the ‘reunion’ of Gerard Piqué with Shakira,” according to a report in “El Español.”

The team has not commented on the report.
Earlier this year, fans of the singer and her famous soccer star partner were shocked to learn that they had separated due to his alleged infidelity.

Piqué, 35, is alleged to have started a fling with 23-year-old public relations student Clara Chia Marti. Photos of the two in public were said to have angered Shakira, who shares two children with the Barca defender.
During last Sunday’s 3-1 loss to rival Real Madrid in the “El Clásico” series at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the Spanish capital, Barca players were outfitted with jerseys bearing the “OVO” owl logo, which is the symbol representing the brand marketed by pop star Drake.

The logo is part of a licensing deal that Barcelona signed with Spotify. The soccer club wore the Drake logo to celebrate the artist surpassing 50 billion streams on Spotify — the first musician to reach the milestone.
Shakira’s drama-filled personal life was further thrown into turmoil last month when a Spanish judge ruled that she had to stand trial for allegedly failing to pay $13.9 million in taxes on income that she earned between 2012 and 2014.

Prosecutors will seek an eight-year prison sentence and a stiff fine if they manage to win a conviction of the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, who has denied any wrongdoing.
The 45-year-old performer has insisted that she only lived less than half of the time in Spain during the two-year period. She has rejected a plea agreement with prosecutors that would have spared her a trial.
Her public relations firm has said she has already paid all that she owed and an additional 3 million euros — or $2.8 million — in interest.
