POINT PLEASANT, N.J. — Bob Czech had a thought to share. Eleven years after he was diagnosed with ALS, the 68-year-old Point Pleasant, New Jersey, resident can’t move or talk. He uses Eyegaze technology to communicate — an electronic keyboard registers his eye movements, letter by letter.

“I strongly believe I am meant to do this, to help a lot of people,” he said, a sentence that took about two minutes to register.
