Now they can call him the catwalk mayor.

Mayor Eric Adams has raised eyebrows for his regular night-crawling activities, which has made him a fixture at Zero Bond and led to him to refer to himself as the “nightlife mayor.”

But Adams is stitching himself to another glamorous industry: the fashion world.

Last Thursday night, Adams welcomed the city’s fashion establishment at Gracie Mansion to kick off New York Fashion Week with a soiree co-hosted by Anna Wintour and CFDA head Steven Kolb. Attendees included Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Wes Gordon and Tory Burch.

“You are the exclamation point of New York. They say if you look good, you feel good so we know we feel good tonight, because you all look so good,” he told the well-heeled crowd according to WWD. He also praised Wintour, calling her the “angel who wears Prada.”

Adams is known for both his love of the red carpet and his swaggy style. He favors impeccably tailored suits, patterned blazers and a diamond stud earring. In February, he took in both the Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors shows alongside Wintour, which may have helped him score a coveted invite to the Met Gala — an event he’d been “dying to go to for years” a friend told The Post last spring.

During his speech, he defended his late hours and flamboyant style and touted the fashion industry’s financial contribution to the city.

“People thought this city was a 9-to-5 city. It was just a flannel-suit city. And all of a sudden January 2022 comes about and the mayor comes in and says he’s the nightlife mayor,” he said.

He added: “New York is back. We are alive. We’re going to bring that artistic energy that we are known for and the diversity of this city. This fashion week we are going to move about and know that you are a $600 million juggernaut — just in this week alone. That is twice the amount if we were to have a Super Bowl here. You bring [a stronger] economy to the city — 100,000 employees, $100 million in tax revenue.”

He also said Wintour, whom he considers a friend, keeps similar late hours.

“We just struck up a conversation, and it was an instant attraction,” Adams told the New York Times of the Vogue editor. “You know, you could text Anna at 1 a.m. in the morning and you’re going to get an instant response.”

In another interview with WWD, he blasted the notion that fashion was frivolous, saying he has long used clothing to push his platforms and initiatives. At the Met Gala he wore a tuxedo adorned with custom art from Nigerian artist Laolu Senbanjo, which said, “End Gun Violence.”

And in 2010, Adams then a state senator, erected two billboards in Brooklyn urging folks to “stop the sag” with an accompanying online message: “You can raise your level of respect if you raise your pants.”
