A noisy “growth” heard throughout spaces of northern Utah was once most probably a meteor, officers stated Saturday.
Reports of the loud noise circulated at about 8:30 a.m., with other folks from Orem to southern Idaho posting that they heard the “growth,” The Salt Lake Tribune
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox tweeted that his place of work showed it was once now not associated with any seismic job or army installations.
The National Weather Service’s Salt Lake City place of work wrote in a tweet that its lightning detection mapper most probably picked up the meteor’s path flash, which officers stated appeared to be showed through witness video in Roy.
South Salt Lake resident Wendi Melling was once simply heading out the door Saturday morning when she heard the noise, which she described as a “loud deep booming sound” adopted through a couple of seconds of rumbling.
“I assumed I heard one thing fall in the home. I’ve since searched the home most sensible to backside and the one factor I’ve discovered was once one slat from our picket fence that had fallen, in order that’s a reduction,” Melling wrote in a Facebook message.
