Bail baloney
Former NYPD reliable John Miller was once spot-on together with his commentary that bail reform is “all ideology over not unusual sense” (“Ex-NYPD official blasts bail ‘bomb,’ ” Aug. 8).

His remark describes all the “revolutionary” mindset of social-justice warriors, which leads to the horrific form our towns are in.

The mayhem we’re experiencing is because of the state Legislature with the approval of Gov. Hochul, who both doesn’t get it or is a part of the issue.

I beg all electorate to position their ideologies apart and elect officers who in reality have the most efficient pursuits in their constituents at middle.

Congestion disaster
The new, irrational choice to lift congestion charges to $23 would be the ultimate nail within the coffin of this once-great, fun-loving town (“MTA’s fare play,” Aug. 10).

This regressive tax will have an effect on costs of eating places, groceries, transportation, exertions and leisure and can essentially be paid for via the poorest New Yorkers.

Bicycle lanes and the removing of unfastened parking have already suffocated all main highway arteries, bringing visitors to a standstill and chasing out suburban guests.

The congestion charges won’t handiest additional discourage suburbanites but in addition end result within the acceleration of the flight of businesses and voters.

We are led via the self-serving Democratic Party, and our mayors, City Council individuals, governors and unions have already systematically destroyed our colleges, prisons, the police division and justice device, leading to a local weather of horrendous crime and corruption.

Gov’s plea to Jews
I learn with a mix of unhappiness and amusement that Gov. Hochul needed to plead with New York’s Jews to stick in New York and no longer transfer to Florida, the place they’re going to in finding decrease taxes and crime charges (“Hochul tells Jews not to move to Fla.,” Aug. 11).

She issues to the state strengthening anti-hate crime rules and greater investment for college Holocaust research. There isn’t any proof that the visibly Jewish folks attacked on our streets are the sufferers of Holocaust deniers.

Teacher exodus
As a former trainer, I’m no longer shocked via the escalating trainer scarcity (“Back to Some Schools,” Cal Thomas, PostOpinion, Aug. 9).

And sure, I believe that some academics surrender as a result of unruly scholars, low pay, burdensome forms or overreaching college forums. But I imagine that the principle reason why is just because the ones academics have learn in regards to the 27 college shootings thus far this 12 months.

They’ve additionally discovered that “energetic shooter drills” handiest terrify kids and gained’t prevent a gunman from massacring a lecture room stuffed with little kids.

I’m afraid that academics will proceed to surrender till Republican lawmakers in any case come to a decision to prohibit military-style attack rifles.

Anti-Israel UN
I’m hoping Israel isn’t hoping that President Biden will be capable to rein within the UN Human Rights Council in its vendetta in opposition to the Jewish state (“UN Israel-Bashing: Time To Stand Up,” David May and Richard Goldberg, PostOpinion, Aug. 8).

The United Nations is just like the proverbial fox guarding the henhouse. Its individuals are blatantly anti-Israel and don’t have any want for equity. Biden and his management are powerless — and, worse, don’t have any want — to get up to the UN.
