A big grass hearth overlaying no less than 8 hectares (20 acres) of land was once declared a significant incident in Surrey on Sunday.
Several hearth engines attended the scene at Hankley Common, close to Farnham.
There have been separate blazes in Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Thamesmead in London, the place hearth engines, a fireplace boat and about 65 firefighters handled a grass hearth.
