The counting is underway for all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. The BJP’s big bastion in the past two general elections is currently witnessing an epic neck-and-neck battle between the ruling NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc comprising Samajwadi Party and Congress.
According to the latest Election Commission figures, the NDA led in 39 seats (the BJP in 36, the RLD in two, and Apna Dal (S) in one) against the INDIA bloc’s 40 seats (the Samajwadi Party in 34 and Congress in six). Chandrashekhar of the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) is leading in Nagina.

Among the key Lok Sabha candidates in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav were leading from the Varanasi, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, and Kannauj Lok Sabha seats, respectively.
Union ministers Smriti Irani and Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal (S)), and senior BJP leader Maneka Gandhi were trailing in the Amethi, Mirzapur, and Sultanpur Lok Sabha seats, respectively.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA won 62 of the 80 seats, while the BSP and Samajwadi Party, then allies, won 10 and five seats, respectively.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is now leading from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat by over 3.85 lakh votes, the latest EC data showed.

In the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat in Ayodhya district, where the Ram temple was opened earlier this year, BJP’s Lallu Singh is currently trailing by more than 14,000 votes against Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad.
UP Lok Sabha Results 2024: Mayawati’s BSP Trailing In All 80 Seats
Former chief minister Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is trailing behind in all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
The BSP has so far garnered about 9.16 per cent votes in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission data.
Earlier in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BSP contested the elections in alliance with the SP and RRLD, and emerged victorious in 10 parliamentary seats.
In 2014, it had failed to win any seat in UP, which sends the most number of Lok Sabha MPs.

UP Election 2024: A Look At Union Ministers’ Lok Sabha Seats
There are as many as 11 Union ministers who are contesting from Uttar Pradesh, the politically crucial state which sends the maximum number of 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha.
Those who are currently leading are PM Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, MoS Law and Justice SP Singh Baghel, and Mos Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.
Those currently trailing are Smriti Irani, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Anupriya Patel, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Kaushal Kishore and Ajay Mishra Teni.
In Lucknow, Rajnath Singh is leading by 19,642 votes against SP’s Ravidas Mehrotra, while Pankaj Chaudhary is leading by over 24,000 votes in Maharajganj. SP Singh Baghel is leading in Agra by over 70,000 votes.
Smriti Irani is trailing K L Sharma of the Congress by nearly one lakh votes in Amethi. Mahendra Nath Pandey is trailing to SP’s Birendra Singh in Chandauli by 1,134 votes.
Sanjeev Kumar Balyan is trailing in Muzaffarnagar to SP’s Harendra Singh Malik by over 28,000 votes.
Union MoS Commerce and Industry Minister Anupriya Patel is trailing in Mirzapur by 1,554 votes SP’s Ramesh Chand Bind.
MoS MSMS Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma is trailing in Jalaun by more than 16,000 votes to SP’s Narayan Das Ahirwar.
MoS Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore is trailing to SP’s RK Chaudhary by more than 60,000 votes.
Union MoS Home Ajay Mishra is trailing in Kheri by over 10,000 votes to Utkarsh Verma ‘Madhur’ of the SP.
Varanasi Election Result 2024: PM Modi Leading By 1.43 Lakh Votes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now leading from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat by 1.43 lakh votes.
According to the latest Election Commission data, PM Modi has so far polled 5,26,785 votes and was leading by 1,43,666 votes over Congress’ Ajay Rai.

“Kishori bhaiya, I never had any doubts, I was sure from the beginning that you will win. Hearty congratulations to you and my dear brothers and sisters of Amethi,” she wrote.

The latest Lok Sabha election trends showed the margin to be more than two lakh votes in four of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
In Gautam Buddh Nagar seat, BJP’s Mahesh Sharma was leading by a margin of over 3.32 lakh votes against Samajwadi Party’s Mahendra Singh Nagar.
In Rae Bareli, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was ahead by a margin of 2.49 lakh votes against BJP’s Dinesh Singh.
In Bulandshahr, BJP’s Bhola Singh had a lead of over 2.69 lakh votes, while in Mathura, BJP MP Hema Malini was leading by a margin of 2.14 lakh votes against Congress’s Mukesh Dhangar.
The counting of votes for Lok Sabha elections 2024 is still underway and final results is expected to come later today.
