Pakistan’s economic recovery hinges on dialogue with Imran: Elahi

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the Central President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Wednesday emphasised the necessity of negotiations in addressing the country’s political and economic challenges.

During an informal discussion with journalists at the accountability court in Lahore, Elahi highlighted the public’s rejection of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in both the general and by-elections, underscoring dissatisfaction with the current administration’s legitimacy.

Expressing concerns over the reluctance of PML-N to engage in negotiations, Elahi remarked, “It is disheartening to witness the ruling faction’s evasion of dialogue, revealing a troubling divide within the party.”

Highlighting Imran Khan’s advocacy for dialogue for Pakistan’s sovereignty and development, Elahi questioned, “How long will the incompetent rulers keep Imran Khan and PTI leaders incarcerated?”

Asserting the efficacy of negotiations, the former Punjab chief minister called upon all political parties to contribute positively towards stabilising the nation.

“Solutions lie in dialogue, and it’s imperative that all stakeholders actively participate in this process,” he added.

Elahi concluded optimistically, expressing hope for the imminent public appearance of Imran Khan and other incarcerated PTI members, affirming, “Insha-Allah, they will all be in public very soon.”
