‘Ring leader among two terrorists killed in N. Waziristan IBO’

The security forces gunned down two terrorists including a ring leader during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday.

The military, in a statement released by its media wing, said that on the night of February 5, an operation was carried out in the district upon receiving a tip-off. A heavy exchange of fire took place fire between the terrorists and troops.

Two terrorists including a ring leader, identified as Ayubullah, were neutralized. The terrorists were said to have remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities including target killings, as well as extorting and abducting innocent civilians.

The security forces recovered arms, ammunition, and explosives from the possession of the killed terrorists.

“Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists present in the area,” the ISPR said, adding that the forces having the support of the locals remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism.

Last week as well security forces killed a terrorist during an IBO in North Waziristan, the military said in a statement.

During the conduct of the operation, according to the ISPR, an intense fire exchange took place between Pakistani troops and terrorists as a result of which a terrorist named Naikman Ullah was killed.
